Fusion™ is a 100% acrylic, water-based paint. Using natural rather than synthetic pigments allows for greater depth in colour and better durability to UV light and time. Once cured, a surface painted with Fusion™ is both water and stain-proof. Fusion products are non-toxic, lead-free and virtually odourless.

Additionally, it’s super easy to apply and create a distressed look. Once cured, it creates a very durable finish that will last for many, many years.

Country Chic’s All-In-One formula has superior adhesive qualities, making it possible to paint essentially any surface with very little preparation.

Milk Paint is a non-toxic, natural paint that has been used for thousands of years. It is made with only five ingredients – milk protein (casein), limestone, chalk, clay and natural pigments.

It is the best paint for raw wood, as it soaks into the wood fibres, acting like a wood stain, never to chip or peel. Milk paint can also be used over existing finishes. It can be used on furniture, walls, metal and unfinished wood floors.

Milk paint can also give you an authentic natural aged look… chippy or shabby chic look if desired.

Top Coats — Now that you have finished painting your furniture, it is recommended that you protect it with a top coat. We have several options available from natural waxes, hemp oil and poly finish tough coat. Miss Mustard Seed's Furniture wax is formulated with carnauba wax, beeswax and odourless mineral spirits. It is a super soft wax that is spreadable and easy to work with. It has a pleasant natural aroma and does not contain any harsh fumes. I like to apply furniture wax with a wax brush, but a soft, lint-free cloth can also be used to apply to your furniture piece. Furniture wax should be applied in thin layers and it is important not to apply too 'thick' as the wax will not cure properly. The thin layers of applied wax will build up adding extra protection to your furniture. Wax should not feel tacky or sticky to touch. After each thin layer buff the wax with a soft lint free cloth. You can achieve a variety of sheen simply by how much you buff the wax. Furniture wax can be a great option for a busy home, scratches can be sanded out and more wax can be applied, making quick repairs easy. Waxes take 30 days to completely harden or cure. It is always recommended to use coasters or trivets with hot liquids or wet glasses to keep your furniture in great shape. It is not recommended to use waxes for outdoor projects as wax melts in heat and direct sunshine.

Hemp Oil — Hemp oil is a natural solvent-free oil finish that can be used to create a water-resistant surface. The oil is processed from the natural hemp seed that is grown here in Canada. It is food safe as it is 100% natural hemp with no additives making it wonderful not only for raw or painted wood, but also wooden kitchen utensils and cutting boards. Hemp oil is not recommended for outdoor use, Tung Oil should be used for exterior projects. Hemp Oil can be applied using a soft cloth or natural bristle brush. Apply a small amount of Hemp Oil to the clean surface. Gently rub the oil into the wood or painted surface. Allow 2 hours of drying time in between coats then wipe away the excess oil with a soft, clean cloth after waiting 12 hours. Re-apply Hemp Oil every year or so as the piece dries out. Easily remove scratches by lightly sanding, then re-apply the Hemp Oil. This natural oil creates a very smooth finish on Milk Paint or Chalk-Style painted furniture.
